Critical to the success of DCSRN’s work is collaboration with local organizations that also serve DC families. DCSRN partners with like-minded organizations that work with similar families and communities, and currently maintains partnerships with over 60 organizations throughout the District of Columbia.
One of DCSRN’s partners, Homeless Children’s Playtime Project (Playtime Project), works to nurture healthy child development and reduce the effects of trauma among children living in temporary housing programs in Washington DC. Playtime Project seeks to ensure consistent opportunities to play and learn, offer support services for families, advocate for affordable housing and safe shelter and more.
“DCSRN’s work is important to helping us at Playtime Project to continue serving our families in the best way.” – Ron Sheffer
Playtime Project knows the value of a quality education, especially for children of families living in underserved communities. DCSRN enjoys a standing invitation from Playtime Project to attend their programming at DC General to support families in competing on an even playing field for access to quality schools.
The work that Playtime Project is doing is extremely important and DC General families frequently ask about navigating the public school choice application process. DCSRN is thrilled to be positioned to support Playtime Project families so that they can remain focused on their own mission.
DCSRN and Playtime Project partake in a rewarding partnership that enriches the work of both organizations. DCSRN is honored to call Playtime Project a High Quality Schools Campaign
partner and looks forward to continuing to partner for years to come to ultimately support DC families.
