Washington, DC is a major school choice city, meaning many parents choose to apply to schools other than their neighborhood school. However, with so many options, parents frequently want support determining which schools are the highest quality and are a good fit for their child.
To ease this process for parents, this year DC School Reform Now (DCSRN) launched Virtual School Tours
, which provide parents with greater access to make important comparisons about school quality. DCSRN’s Virtual School Tours are the first of their kind to authentically show each aspect of a school day and currently include many Tier 1 public middle schools in Washington, DC.
Sponsored by United Way of the North Capital Area, DCSRN is participating in Do More 24
, a 24-hour social media fundraiser for local nonprofits. Our goal is to raise $5,000, which will directly fund additional Virtual School Tours to be filmed in the fall of 2013. You can help make that happen by donating to DCSRN’s Do More 24 campaign on June 6!
Additionally, join us for a casual happy hour on June 6 from 5:30pm to 7:30pm at Front Page (across from the Dupont South metro). Attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about the Virtual School Tours and Do More 24 for DCSRN!
