Collaboration with local organizations that also serve DC families is critical to the success of DCSRN’s work. DCSRN currently maintains partnerships with over 50 community organizations throughout the District.
One such partnership is with the nonprofit So Others Might Eat (SOME). For over 40 years, SOME has supported DC residents with free meals, clothing, medical and dental care, job training, affordable housing and much more.
"DCSRN’s work is important. SOME is grateful for this fruitful partnership that greatly benefits our families."
– Archie Williams
SOME recognizes the importance of ensuring families can access quality schools and, in 2013, invited DCSRN to participate in its annual Education Resource Fair. The Fair enables families living in SOME housing programs to connect with quality schools, educational programs and resources, which are available to them in their community. Since then, DCSRN has helped many SOME families navigate the DC school choice application process and gain access to quality schools.
DCSRN and SOME enjoy a fruitful partnership that enhances the work of both organizations. DCSRN is honored to call SOME a High Quality Schools Campaign partner and looks forward to continuing to partner to ultimately support DC families for years to come.
