New Virtual School Tours Coming this Fall

Each year, DCSRN seeks to expand our Virtual School Tour library to showcase quality public schools from across the District. DCSRN will be filming five Virtual School Tours this fall through a generous grant from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation. New tours include Duke Ellington School of the Arts, Benjamin Banneker Academic High School, Elsie Whitlow Stokes Community Freedom PCS – East End, and Shining Stars Montessori Academy PCS. Last filmed six years ago, DC Prep Edgewood Middle Campus will be the subject of an updated tour to illustrate changes in school culture, staff, and administration since it was last filmed.

Membership is voluntary, and meetings are held quarterly. Click HERE to view membership criteria and meeting schedule. MSDC is actively seeking representatives from wards 1-3 and 5-8. Applications can be found HERE and are due Sept. 14, 2018. Contact Aryan Bocquet for more information.

New Partner: Eagle Academy PCS - Congress Heights

DCSRN is excited to announce a new partnership with Eagle Academy – Congress Heights, a PK3-3 elementary school located in Ward 8. Serving over 700 students, Eagle Academy has a large footprint in the Ward 8 community, and the partnership will allow DCSRN parent advocates to serve more families and provide valuable transition services for parents seeking quality 4th grade options for their children. As with all partners, Eagle Academy families will receive support identifying quality schools, completing the application and enrollment process, and managing their waitlist status.
